Aerial Photographs From A Bird’s Eye View – By: Seannie Cameras

It is no secret that I love to travel, whether it be my car, rail, or catamaran, planes offer the most unique vantage point of any of these modes of transportation.  Whether it be Man’s urge to harness the gift of flight and the endless possibilities associated with it, or the fact that in the morning you could leave your home city and be 3,000 miles away in a different timezone, world, and state of being has been a constant allure to people to dismiss their fear of flying and get into an airbus to see the world from a bird’s eye view.  In an otherwise mundane experience from the road, the air offers the curious traveler an opportunity to peer out of their small window and look down upon scenes that may be dull, and laborious through the window of a car.

Take the Midwest.  From the car, it is a sad, and sullen two-lane road that goes through towns and farmland that have been seemingly forgotten since the age of the Dustbowl.  From the air? You have a beautifully-calculated and ornate geometry of circle’s, squares, rectangles, and other shapes that spell out patterns of farmland, agriculture, and meticulous design that is more regal than, “down-on-the-farm” would suggest.  Rivers cut, fork, and split these landscapes like geographical fingers that are drawing new lines in Earth’s canvas, all for the benefit of the observant, frequent flyer.  Fly into any major city in the world and you get a glimpse at the vast expanse of what consists of a metropolitan area, all the cogs that make up the genetic make-up of the urban experience.

Don’t take it from me, view these photographs below that are exemplar, exhibits of what happens if you decide to leave your seat in an upright position, keep the shade open, and put on your favorite, ambient traveling music to set the soundtrack for your bird’s eye view journey through an America that few people take appreciation of.

I had to put this last one in, after Hurriane Katrina in New Orleans.
