Here we are, finding ourselves on the dawn of yet another Moombahton Massive. For anyone who has been to the previous two Massive’s, it goes without saying that UHall is the Yankee Stadium for Moombahton. The atmosphere, the sound, and the talent make each one of these a unique experience. Rest assured, tomorrow night will be a time to celebrate, reflect, and look forward to the next few months of a genre that has continued to captivate dance floors in a way none of us thought would be possible last year.

Tonight’s Moombahton Massive Tres is much different though, as it is a benefit. We are all rallied together to support a member of our musical family in his time of need. As chronicled on this site, a 21 year old prodigy, named Munchi, came along last year and changed the face of Moombahton. Not only did he inspire us all musically, but he also had the opportunity to travel, work, and live in America for a few months, where he became our friend. Unfortunately, Munchi became very ill while on tour (he had a seizure caused by an intra cerebral hemorrhage), and has been faced with a steep uphill climb since. While his health is our primary concern, he faces the reality that, as a working musician, he got sick without access to health insurance in America. While he is back in Rotterdam now and has future medical bills covered, he is staring down an insurmountable 11 day hospital bill. For him to be able to get back to the States and start working again, he needs our help.

For a current health update, we turn to DJ Ayres, who has been there since Day One keeping everyone in the loop. Here are his words posted on his amazing website.

“I spoke with Munchi on the phone last week and his doctor in Rotterdam told him he can begin to DJ and produce music again soon. He says he’s been resting up and he’s excited about working again. His headaches are much fewer and farther between and he’s feeling a lot better than he was – less dizziness & memory issues, more clear-headed and normal.
Even if you can’t make it to Moombahton Massive 3, you can still donate money directly to Munchi’s hospital fund RIGHT HERE.” – Ayres

As for the party itself? Well, the lineup for Moombahton Massive Tres is just fantastic. We have Obeyah, Uncle Jesse, Tropixxx (Billy the Gent & Cam Jus), Jon Kwest, DJ Ayres, and Nadastrom all in the building ready to show everyone what they’ve been working on lately. I don’t know about you, but I am fucking stoked to hear DJ Ayres go in on a Moombahton set. He’s been in the lab banging out edits, and I can only imagine what surprises he has in store. Not only that, but Billy the Gent is getting married over the weekend, so let’s make this a Co-Ed Bachelor Party that he’ll never forget!

As for the home town boys Nadastrom? Well, let’s just say they are having one hell of a run lately. While setting up shop in Los Angeles, they have been traveling all over playing Moombahton sets for an ever-growing crowd. Dave frequently gets requests for Moombahton tracks like Munchi’s “Sandungeo” and his own “Riverside Edit.” The festival circuits were a huge success (SXSW & Miami both had wildly fun Moombahton nights), and they are about to embark on an Australian tour at the Creamfield festival next week. You can even buy Nadastrom Moombahton edits on iTunes now (Blaqstarr’s ‘Rider Girl’ is a must)! Next level ya’ll.

Lastly, because Dave is a one-of-a-kind, all around great motherfucker, he decided to give this site an exclusive track for you all to download. The Florence & The Machine ‘s “You’ve Got The Love“ (Nadastrom Moombahton Edit) was first heard on the BBC 1 Moombahton Takeover w/ Toddla T, so let’s just say you all are getting an in-demand edit. GRAB IT HERE

So please, everyone, come on out Thursday for Moombahton Massive Tres and support our good pal Munchi so next time he can be guaranteed to come and play at Moombahton Massive Cuatro!!!!
