U Street Music Hall Unveils New Logo “Lightens Up” Some-By Denman
So, Uhall has been rockin Kelly Towles’ big “U” for a little over a year now. Sometime after the plans for the anniversary party were settled, the owners of our beloved venue began to think about a bit of a re-vamp for the clubs image, beginning with said logo.
I was able to sit in on a recent meeting, and get a few quotes to explain the changes.
“We decided to make it a little more more casual, so we’re going to finally, officially embrace the whole, ‘Uhall,’ nickname,” was the thinking of WIll Eastman.
Brian Miller quickly chimed in,”I know in the past we’ve had a paired down aesthetic, but I think now we might loosen the tie a little, so to speak. The new logo will be a little more fun, and a little more hip.”
While the final version has not yet been set in stone, the mock up we were able to get a hold of looks like this:
The idea is to test out the new logo, and then feel out the response to begin updating the color palates as well.
Miller was thinking, “Maybe more fuchsia and magenta ranged tones, starting with the paneling on the walls.”
Tittsworth, also a Uhall owner, gave his two cents,”Maybe stop being so damn serious; I mean we have parties like Bliss and Nouveau Riche. This ain’t fucking Berlin!”
The new logo is slated to drop in mid April, and, if all goes well, the expanded decor should start rolling out in early May.
That’s the good news, the bad news is, well….our deepest apologies to everyone who we recently prompted to get the, soon-to-be-outmoded, Uhall logo tattooed on them. We still deeply appreciate your fervent devotion, and think the old logo makes a mighty fine piece of work. The consolation here is that we’ve managed to work out a deal with Tattoo Paradise. For the month of April, anyone who go the old logo tattooed on them can get a free cover up, and a discount on a new logo tattoo. So, while your Uhall tattoo might not be applicable anymore, that is one hell of a deal on getting it worked out.
Be on the lookout for the new Uhall flare, and, in the meantime, we’ll keep everyone up to date here, and show any sneak peaks as soon as we can get a hold of them.
